Devorah Cutler-Rubenstein is an adjunct professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and an instructor for UCLA’s Extension Program. A former studio exec, she began her career graduating from California Institute of the Arts, with her first professional gig helping to supervise special effects for Alan Sharp’s adaptation of Roger Zelzany’s sci-fi feature DAMNATION ALLEY for Twentieth Century-Fox. She is a recent graduate of the MPW Program in Creative Writing at USC’s Dornsife College of Arts, Letters & Sciences. She has chapters in NOW WRITE! Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror and NOW WRITE! Screenplays published by Penguin/Tarcher 2014, 2012 respectively. Recent credits include writer/producer/director on Tattoo-U for the FX Channel and co-writer/director Peacock Blues for Showtime. She co-wrote with Marilyn R. Atlas and Elizabeth Lopez, DATING YOUR CHARACTER… A Sexy Guide to Screenwriting for Film & TV. She continues to write screenplays, short fiction and poetry. She has five great grandkids and she hopes they’ll be proud of her contribution here to inspire young minds.
