As Diane Carter, CPCS, Internationally recognised Professional Speaker and Author, shared part of her life story, she not only held everyone's attention, but at times, had them in fits of laughter. She spoke with a specialness of humour and seriousness. After a hyena mauled her face in the outback of Zimbabwe, and she lost an eye, ear, and had a badly mangled face, as well as serious thumb and other injuries Diane, in and out of consciousness and exhaustion, was taken to a local outback surgery through herds of wild elephants. Finally put onto a MARS Air Rescue Hospital Plane to Harare where, after exhaustive surgery and a new glass eye, she recovered with a positive attitude and got on with her life, living it to the full and turning every obstacle into a positive. The crocodile that nearly overturned their boat, the hilarious donkey story, the cable car ride over an African river when on safari, becoming a "prostitute/hooker" in Tijuana, Mexico, and other tales all made the morning very memorable and motivated everyone to make the most of every day. Diane is author of "Get a Life, Dare to Succeed" and "Dare to Live – Trust Yourself", books which uplift spirits and help readers to find strengths within themselves they had forgotten they had. Diane, a former Head of Mvurachena School in Chipinge in Zimbabwe, has a special affinity with education groups and the corporate learning and development area. Experienced travellers, she and husband Tony grew up in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) - Tony flew with the Royal Air Force as a navigator back in the 60's, arriving in Australia in 1971. Diane has been in education all of her life retiring as a school principal in 2006. "My attitude and mindset have had a huge positive effect on my home and professional life", she says.
