John is a very special man who's main focus is on men's work. Men's work is a very important topic and will have a main focus throughout the 1000 Ripple Effects Project.
John Broadbent is the author of "Man Unplugged - Exploring The Inner Man"
Released in March 2014 the book explores:
- What does it mean to be man right now?
- How did we get to where we are?
- What affects the way we think about ourselves?
- How can men live more deeply fulfilling lives?
In the not-too-distant past, a man’s self-worth, being a provider and protector, were strongly tied to his work. With global financial pressures, changes in employment and gender roles in flux, the traditional roles of men are changing.
Health, sexuality, intimacy and emotional mobility underpin a man’s capacity to relate, which in turn informs the quality of his interpersonal relationships and ultimately, society.
Join ‘Man Unplugged’ as he takes you on a journey through the inner world of men, exploring the multiple facets of why we are as we are. You’ll understand the steps men can take to instil lasting change, resulting in authentic men, connected relationships, happier families and stronger communities.

Are you a Man Unplugged?
Listen to John as he discusses how an interaction with Dolphins in the early 90s changed his life.
John has met Shaman in Alaska, Sages in the Himalayas, Healers in Bali, Maasai in Kenya and Elders at Uluru, all of which challenged his notions of ‘reality’. His exposure to other cultures, ceremony and ritual has greatly influenced and significantly widened his worldview, as well as his intuition.
He has a burning passion to explore all of life’s experiences and is always willing to listen, guide and mentor, calling on his experience and practical wisdom.
